My name is Delainey Bowers, and I'm a public folklorist, archivist, and librarian. In 2008 I earned my BA in English from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and in 2015 I graduated with my MLS from Indiana University. I worked as a Reference and Adult Services Librarian at a public library in South Carolina for several years before heading to Western Kentucky University in 2017. I am currently pursuing an MA in Folk Studies with a concentration in Public Folklore.

My interests include progressive archival practices through shared community curatorship, mindful digitization and preservation efforts, and the nitty-gritty of applied folklore practice.

More often than not, you can find me with my nose buried in a good book, singing shape note hymns, or cheering loudly at a local pro wrestling match. Let's meet!
